From Spain to South Africa, a Donation That Will Change Lives

Starting a foundation in South Africa is no easy feat. And choosing which vulnerable women to support, in a context where needs are urgent and systemic challenges are overwhelming, is one of the hardest and most emotional tasks we face daily.
At The Empathologist Foundation, we work with women — most of them mothers — who have experienced deep trauma, including the heartbreaking decision of whether or not to place their children for adoption. Supporting them in rebuilding their lives is the very essence of our mission. When we help one of them, we’re uplifting a whole family — often a single-parent one — and opening the door to a better future.
Our work ranges from covering daycare costs so mothers can seek employment, to funding training programs, improving unsafe housing, supporting community-based business initiatives, and recently, contributing to the creation of a daycare center in Delft, one of Cape Town’s informal settlements.
This time, help came from a truly unexpected place: Spain.
And it arrived in the most magical of ways.
✨ Three Mediums, One Mission of Light
It all began when José, one of our co-founders, got a call from his cousin in Alcoy. She told him about Lirios, a chemical engineer, medium, and clairvoyant deeply involved in international humanitarian work. After hearing about our projects and recalling her own experience working with orphanages in South Africa, she immediately connected with one of our initiatives: Ms. P’s daycare, led by a beneficiary of our foundation who is currently studying Early Childhood Education with the dream of opening a community-based center.
Lirios didn’t hesitate. She asked what we needed. Together with Ms. P, we created a list: sleep mats, blankets, bottles, tables, chairs, toys…
And the story didn’t stop there. Lirios wasn’t alone.
Alongside Ryoko Ruiz and Gemma, also mediums and deeply spiritually aligned women, they organized a charity retreat in Spain under the name “Messages of Light” — a humanitarian project that channels spiritual gatherings into tangible help for causes around the world. Through this event, they raised 12,007 Rands, which will go directly to the daycare’s setup.
💫 About These Beautiful Souls
Lirios de Agua has dedicated her spiritual gifts to humanitarian service. Since a near-death experience in childhood, she has felt profoundly connected to the universe and guided by love and light. Her project “Messages of Light” was born from a calling to use her gifts for good — from Argentina to South Africa.
Ryoko Ruiz, medium and psychotherapist, has known since childhood that her purpose was to help create a better world. Whether assisting communities, children in need, or individuals seeking guidance, she follows her heart. For her, supporting the Delft daycare means helping create a happier future, one child at a time.
Gemma, medium and energy therapist, believes that when one person thrives, we all do. Her spiritual awakening led her to see the unity in everything, and to dedicate herself to contributing to a more compassionate, joyful world. Children, she believes, are the seeds of change.
🌱 The Impact
Thanks to the generous donation of 12,007 Rands, we will now be able to purchase all the necessary materials for Ms. P to open her daycare once she receives her certificate this October. The space will not only welcome children during the day — it will also become an after-school and emotional support hub for teenage girls in the community.

🌍 Conexiones de Luz: Desde España a Sudáfrica, una donación que cambiará vidas
Montar una fundación en Sudáfrica no es tarea sencilla. Y filtrar los casos de mujeres en situación de vulnerabilidad, para decidir a quién ayudar entre tantas historias de lucha, es una de las decisiones más complejas y conmovedoras que enfrentamos día a día.
En The Empathologist Foundation, trabajamos con mujeres —en su mayoría madres— que han atravesado decisiones tan difíciles como entregar a sus hijos en adopción. Acompañarlas en su proceso de reconstrucción personal y empoderamiento es nuestra razón de ser. Ayudarlas significa abrir una puerta a un futuro más digno, no solo para ellas, sino también para sus hijos, sus comunidades, y para todos nosotros como humanidad.
Nuestra labor abarca desde pagar guarderías para que las madres puedan buscar empleo, hasta ofrecer formación, mejorar viviendas precarias, impulsar pequeñas cooperativas, y recientemente, colaborar en la apertura de una guardería comunitaria en Delft, uno de los suburbios más necesitados de Ciudad del Cabo.
En esta ocasión, la ayuda ha llegado desde un lugar muy especial: España.
Y lo ha hecho de la forma más inesperada… y mágica.
✨ Tres médiums, una misión de luz
Todo comenzó cuando José, uno de nuestros fundadores, recibió una llamada desde Alcoy. Su prima le habló de Lirios, una ingeniera química, médium y vidente, comprometida con proyectos de ayuda humanitaria a nivel internacional. Su experiencia en Sudáfrica y su profunda sensibilidad espiritual conectaron al instante con uno de nuestros proyectos: la guardería de Ms. P, una de nuestras beneficiarias que está formándose en Educación Infantil para abrir un espacio seguro y educativo para los niños y niñas de su comunidad.
Lirios no solo se interesó, se comprometió. Preguntó qué necesitábamos y co-creamos con ella y Ms. P una lista con todo lo esencial: colchonetas, biberones, mantas, sillas, mesas, juguetes…
Pero ahí no termina la historia. Lirios no vino sola.
Junto a Ryoko Ruiz y Gemma, también médiums y mujeres profundamente conectadas con su misión espiritual, organizaron un retiro benéfico en España. A través de su iniciativa “Mensajes de la Luz” —un programa de ayuda humanitaria que canaliza eventos espirituales en apoyo a causas sociales— lograron una donación de 12.007 Rands para nuestra fundación.
💫 Quienes son estas almas generosas
Lirios de Agua canaliza su mediumnidad como herramienta de servicio. Su visión es clara: somos uno, y el alma encuentra sentido cuando sirve desde el amor. Su programa “Mensajes de la Luz” nació del deseo de aportar a causas reales en el mundo, desde Argentina hasta Sudáfrica.
Ryoko Ruiz, médium y psicoterapeuta, ha sentido desde pequeña el llamado de ayudar. Su foco está en la infancia, en las familias necesitadas, y en sanar desde la empatía. “La sonrisa de un niño es la mejoría del mundo”, nos dijo. Y no podemos estar más de acuerdo.
Gemma, médium y terapeuta energética, encontró en el despertar espiritual una fuente de conexión con todos los seres. Para ella, los niños son semillas del cambio, y brindarles bienestar es contribuir al futuro de todos.
🌱 El impacto
Gracias a la generosa donación de 12.007 Rands, podremos adquirir todos los materiales necesarios para que en octubre, cuando Ms. P reciba su certificado, la guardería de Delft abra sus puertas. Este espacio no solo cuidará niños durante el día, sino que por las tardes se transformará en un lugar de apoyo y empoderamiento para adolescentes de la comunidad.
